Complete rewiring and harness repair — from one chewed wire to a whole new loom
At Kallukatti, Kaliyakkavilai — on the NH-47 (now NH-66), near the Nayara petrol pump — and at our Pudukadai branch. Open from 8 AM, every day.
Also called: wiring, wiring problem, loom, harness. "Wiring problem" is what everyone says at the counter — this page is where the big version of that sentence gets fixed properly.
When you need this
Think rewiring when: several unrelated things fail together — horn, lights, gauges taking turns; rats have been at the loom; there is a burning smell or warm insulation anywhere; the fuses have opinions every week; or the vehicle is old enough that its wiring is original and crumbling in your hand.
Burning smell from the wiring right now? Switch off, disconnect the battery if you can reach it safely, and call 094872 34923 — a smell is a warning; smoke is a countdown. Emergency help →
Wiring fails here for four reasons, and we see all four weekly: rats, who find engine bays warm and insulation delicious; damp, which creeps into joints through every monsoon; age, because copper and rubber were not promised forever; and earlier repairs done by guesswork — cut, twisted, taped and hoped. Any one of them turns a reliable vehicle into a mystery that changes its symptoms daily.
The cure runs from surgical to complete. A chewed section can be repaired and sealed properly. A tired circuit can be re-run. And when the loom is past honesty, we rewire the vehicle completely — cars, autos, pickups, tractors and JCBs, vintage machines included — building custom harnesses in-house where the original is unobtainable or was never good enough for the accessories the vehicle now carries. A full rewire typically takes two to five days, and the vehicle comes back with wiring that makes sense, circuit by circuit.
And when wiring arrives here carrying someone else's history, we repair the history too — methodically, joint by joint, until the loom tells the truth again.
What it costs
| Complete rewiring, by vehicle and scope | ₹3,500 – ₹8,000 |
|---|
Sectional repairs price far below a full rewire — the inspection says which your vehicle needs, and you approve the scope before a single wire is cut. Typical full-rewire time: two to five days.

Rewiring — what you should know
Rat damage rarely stops where you found it
The chewed wire you can see usually has cousins you cannot. We trace the loom past the visible bite before quoting — because sealing one repair over a half-eaten harness is how a vehicle comes back angrier in a month.
What we undo most from other shops
Most of the wiring we re-do was never damaged. Someone cut a joint, rejoined it, and tried again until the light came on — and the original fault is still sitting there under the tape. Undoing that patiently is half our rewiring work; you get a loom where every join is a proper joint and the original fault is finally gone.
Accessory wiring, done right or undone
Music systems, extra horns, auxiliary lamps and camera kits hung off whatever wire was nearest are a slow fire in waiting — and a common reason fuses blow in patterns. We wire accessories on proper feeds with proper protection, and we un-wire the improvisations, whoever fitted them.
Custom harnesses for vehicles the catalogue forgot
Vintage machines, rebuilt tractors, bodied commercial vehicles — where no loom exists to buy, we make one: correct gauges, correct routing, correct protection.
Old-vehicle electrics are their own craft: vintage and classic electrical →.
When it is one circuit, not the whole loom
A single dead system with a healthy loom is usually a fuse, relay or earthing fault — a much smaller day than this page.
That bench is fuse box, relay and earthing repair →.
Rewire, or trace one fault?
Many circuits failing, history of rats or bad repairs, insulation cracking — the loom itself is the patient.
One symptom, one circuit, battery draining quietly overnight — hunt the fault; do not buy a rewire for it.
The overnight-drain hunt is its own service: short-circuit and current-leak tracing →.
Smell or smoke as your symptom starts at burning smell from wiring →.
Everything dead at once? Read no current in the vehicle → before assuming the worst.

Rewiring — common questions
What does a full rewire cost?
₹3,500 – ₹8,000, depending on the vehicle and how much of the loom is genuinely due — an auto and a JCB are different undertakings. The scope and figure are agreed in writing before work starts.
How long is the vehicle off the road?
Two to five days for a complete rewire, less for sectional work. You get the honest estimate for your vehicle before committing, and a call if anything found mid-job changes it.
Rats keep coming back to my engine bay. Any point rewiring?
Yes — and we finish with routing and sheathing that gives them less to enjoy. No workshop can promise rat-proof; we can promise harder-to-eat and easier-to-repair.
Can you fix wiring another shop already worked on?
Frequently that is the job. Bring it as it is — the loom tells its own story once it is opened, and we repair what the story needs rather than assigning blame.
Do you rewire tractors and JCBs on site?
Machine wiring is regular work here, and field-side repairs are possible for what genuinely cannot travel — call and describe the machine and where it stands.
