Power window repair — motor, regulator or switch, named before you pay
At Kallukatti, Kaliyakkavilai — on the NH-47 (now NH-66), near the Nayara petrol pump — and at our Pudukadai branch. Open from 8 AM, every day.
Also called: power window, glass motor, window regulator. Three parts share the blame for every stuck window — the motor that drives, the regulator that lifts, the switch that commands — and they are priced very differently.
When you need this
Window work is due when: the glass will not move up or down; it crawls, or moves in sulky jerks; the motor whirrs but the glass stays put; it works from the driver's switch but not its own — or the reverse; or the glass has dropped into the door and stayed there.
Window stuck open with weather or worry coming? Call 094872 34923 — a window that will not close is a security problem by nightfall, and temporary securing plus proper repair can usually happen the same day. Emergency help →
A power window is a small crane living inside your door: a motor, a lifting mechanism called the regulator, and the switches that give orders. When the glass stops obeying, the fix costs whatever the guilty part costs — which is why the diagnosis matters more than the door panel. A whirring motor with motionless glass is a failed regulator; silence on every switch is electrical; one dead switch with the rest alive is just that switch.
We open the door once, name the part with evidence, and repair at that level: switches and wiring repaired, regulators repaired or replaced by condition, motors renewed where their brushes and gears allow — with the glass aligned and the mechanism greased so the cure lasts. Cars, SUVs, pickups and cab windows on commercial vehicles all pass through this bench.
And because a stuck-open window cannot wait politely for parts: if a replacement part must be ordered, the glass is secured shut properly in the meantime — not with tape and hope.
What it costs
| Power window motor, regulator or switch repair | ₹400 – ₹1,200 depending on the part at fault |

Switch-level faults sit at the bottom of the band, regulator-and-motor work at the top — and you hear which yours is before the repair starts.

Power windows — what you should know
Slow glass is asking early
A window that crawls or needs a helping palm is a mechanism binding or a motor fading — both cheaper now than after the strain snaps the regulator cable and drops the glass into the door on a highway morning.
The child-lock and switch-pack traps
Plenty of "broken windows" are a switched-on window lock, a failed driver's master switch, or a worn contact in one door. It takes minutes to check and costs the least of anything on this page — which is why it is checked first, not last.
Glass fallen inside the door
Usually a snapped regulator cable or a separated clamp, not broken glass. Stop using the switch — the motor will happily chew the loose cable further — and have the door opened properly; the glass is very often reusable.
All four windows dead at once
That is not four coincidences — it is a supply, fuse or earthing fault upstream of the doors.
That family of fault is its own quick page: fuse, relay and earthing repair →.

Power windows — common questions
What will my window cost to fix?
₹400 – ₹1,200 — where in the band depends on whether it is switch, motor or regulator, which the first inspection names with the door open in front of you.
Can you do it today?
Switch, wiring and many regulator faults, yes. If a model-specific part must come, the window is secured closed meanwhile so the car stays weatherproof and lockable.
Manual windows — do you fix those too?
Yes — winder mechanisms and channels are the same crane without the motor, and on autos and older cars they are quick, inexpensive work.
Why does it work sometimes and not others?
Intermittent windows are usually a worn switch contact or a wiring hinge-point in the door boot flexing toward failure — findable, and best caught before it settles on permanently stuck.
