Two brothers, two workshops, one trade
A specialist auto-electrical family: batteries, wiring and vehicle electronics — nothing else, since 1998.

Xavier Battery & Auto Electrical Works began as one workshop on the NH-47 (now NH-66) at Kallukatti, in Kaliyakkavilai, Kanyakumari district. Today it is two workshops run by two brothers — the second at Pudukadai — each owned and run as its own business under one shared name. The rule has not changed since the first day: test first, say plainly what is wrong, fix what is actually broken.
The trade never widened, on purpose. There is no engine work here, no bodywork, no tyres, no painting — batteries and vehicle electrical systems, and nothing else. That narrowness is the point: a workshop that does only electrical work meets every kind of electrical fault, every day, and hard faults need exactly that.
Albert Xavier
Proprietor & Chief Auto Electrician, Kallukatti
30 years in auto electrical
Albert Xavier works the hardest end of auto-electrical: board-level ECU repair, key and immobiliser programming, and SRS systems. Much of that work arrives after another garage has stopped — vehicles come to Kallukatti from workshops across this belt when a fault has beaten the tools they keep.
Board-level means the failed part is found and repaired on the original unit — a burnt driver stage, a corroded track, corrupted memory — instead of the whole computer being condemned. On immobiliser-era vehicles that preserves the matching between car, keys and computer, which a replacement forces you to redo.
The diagnostic bench
The bench decides what a workshop can honestly attempt. This one scans every make at full system depth, not generic-port only; programs ECUs on the bench and through the boot process; and makes and teaches keys — all in-house at Kallukatti. The tools are named on this page for one reason: anyone in the trade knows exactly what the list means, and anyone about to spend money deserves the chance to check it.

The Pudukadai branch
The Pudukadai workshop is run by Albert's brother as a separately owned business under the same name, serving the Pudukadai side of the district — batteries, wiring, starters and lights, with the deeper electronics coming to the Kallukatti bench when a fault needs it. His own page carries his story.
How we work
The battery test is free, and it happens before any talk of money. Every job leaves with a printed GST bill. Every battery leaves with a written warranty card, filled in at the counter.
The limit is said out loud. Some ECU damage cannot be repaired — a cooked processor, fractures inside the board's inner layers — and when that is the finding, you hear it before you spend, and replacement is discussed as replacement. A workshop that claims to fix everything is making a different kind of claim.

The team
Both workshops train their technicians in-house, on the vehicles this district actually drives — autos and hatchbacks, lorries and tractors, and the vintage machines still working these roads. Two shops, two teams, two payrolls.

Common questions
Why do other garages send you their electrical work?
Equipment and years, mostly — and the fact that this workshop never diluted into general repair. Board-level ECU work needs a bench most garages cannot justify owning, and experience no course teaches. When a fault beats a good general mechanic, it needs a specialist, and the mechanics of this belt know where that specialist sits.
Are you the cheapest?
Usually not the most expensive, and never the cheapest. What the money buys instead is the test before the bill: the battery test costs nothing, the diagnosis names the actual fault, and you never pay for the wrong repair — which is where the real money in this trade is lost.
Can I see the qualifications?
Ask at the counter, happily. The certificates stay off the internet by choice; the qualifications are listed on this page, and the work is the better proof.
