Skip that step and the car keeps charging the new battery like the old one — shortening its life and sometimes throwing warnings. Green-white corrosion on a terminal, a clamp that will not tighten, a tray rusted through — any of these can strand a healthy battery. Cleaning, coating, new clamps or a tray repair runs ₹100 – ₹350, and we will not sell you a battery to fix a ₹150 terminal.

Drained is not dead

Lights left on overnight? A battery that is merely drained can usually be recharged — ₹150 – ₹300, ready the same day — rather than replaced. The test tells us which it is before you spend anything.
