Car key programming — spares made, remotes coded, new keys taught to the car
At Kallukatti, Kaliyakkavilai — on the NH-47 (now NH-66), near the Nayara petrol pump. Key work is done at this branch.
Also called: key programming, duplicate key, remote coding, fob, smart key. A modern key is two things — metal and memory. Cutting handles the metal; programming is teaching the vehicle's immobiliser to trust the memory.
When you need this
Key work is due when: the family runs one key and everyone knows it; a remote has stopped locking or unlocking; a new-cut key turns the lock but the engine refuses it; buttons work only from close-up; or a key came with the used vehicle and you would rather the previous owner's spare stopped working.
Only key failing, far from home? Call 094872 34923 — sometimes it is a coin-cell, sometimes the transponder; describing what still works usually tells us which. Emergency help →
Every chipped key made since the early 2000s carries a transponder the immobiliser interrogates before the engine may run. A bazaar-cut copy turns the barrel and gets you precisely nowhere — the metal matched, the memory did not. On this bench, keys are cut and then taught: transponders programmed, remotes coded, smart keys registered, on the Autel MaxiIM equipment built for exactly this.
The single wisest job on this page is the one nobody schedules: the spare, made while your only key still works. With a working key present, adding a second is quick, routine and cheap compared to what its absence costs — because once every key is gone, the job changes species entirely.
Bought a used vehicle? Bring it with the keys you received. We can program your new spare and, on most vehicles, remove keys you never received from the immobiliser's memory — so whoever kept one keeps a souvenir, not access.
What it costs
| Transponder key or remote — cut, programmed and tested | ₹2,000 – ₹5,000 depending on the vehicle and key type |
|---|
Smart keys and remote-in-key designs vary widely by make — the exact figure takes one phone call with the vehicle name, and the key is usually done while you wait.

Key programming — what you should know
The ₹300 copy that will not start the car
A market key-cutter can match the blade perfectly and still hand you a dead key — the immobiliser never met it. If a fresh copy turns the lock but the engine dies in two seconds, nothing is broken: the key was simply never programmed. Bring it in; teaching it is often all it needs.
Remote dead? Try the cheapest answer first
A remote that fades with distance or needs three presses is usually a tired coin-cell, and we say so rather than sell you programming. A remote the car has genuinely forgotten needs re-coding — minutes on the bench, and both problems leave by the same door.
Why the spare is urgent, not optional
With one working key, a spare is a small, same-day job. With zero keys, it becomes bench-level immobiliser work at several times the price.
Already at zero? That is its own service, handled calmly: all keys lost →.
Key works, car still refuses?
When a known-good key is rejected, the fault has moved from the key to the system that reads it.
That trail starts at immobiliser fault diagnosis →.
Key problem, or immobiliser problem?
New or copied key refused, original still works — a programming gap; the bench closes it same day.
Every key refused, security lamp blinking — the immobiliser side is unwell; different page, same workshop.
Symptom-first reading lives at car key or remote not working →.
Locks misbehaving rather than the engine? Central locking not working → covers the door side.

Key programming — common questions
How much is a duplicate car key with the chip?
₹2,000 – ₹5,000 — the spread is the key hardware itself; a basic transponder key sits low, a smart key higher. Call with the vehicle name and get today's figure in thirty seconds.
Can you program a key I bought online?
Usually, if it is the correct part for the vehicle and genuine — we test it first and tell you before charging. A wrong or counterfeit key wastes your money twice; buying through us carries its own warranty.
Do I need to bring the car?
Yes — programming is a conversation between the key and the vehicle's immobiliser, so the vehicle must be present, with its papers. Keys cannot be programmed to a car that is not here.
My auto rickshaw or pickup — same service?
Chipped commercial keys are the same bench work. Older vehicles with plain metal keys need only honest cutting — and we will tell you which you have rather than sell programming to a key with no chip.
Can old keys be deleted from the car?
On most vehicles, yes — programming a fresh set can retire lost or previous-owner keys, so what is gone stays gone. Worth doing the day a key goes missing, not the day it comes back.
